Welcome to the Awakening Latin America blog. This is a place
for the team members to get to know each other. Also there will be
several of us in the office posting on here with different topics that
will be important to your preparation for this trip. Please make this
a favorite and check it every week or sign up for the updates. For
those of you who will be going on this trip, welcome! For those of

~What is Awakening?~
This past
year God lead us to make a change in the way we ran the First Year Missionary program and did a
trial run with our Africa locations. We
called it the Awakening. Based upon the fruit we saw from this past
Awakening, and after much prayer and discussion, we have decided to adopt the
Awakening model for the entire program, beginning in September 2008.
We
will have 2 Awakening locations this September, one in Southern Africa and one
in Mexico.
The Awakenings will run from September through December and will include
teaching and training in the morning and local ministries in the
afternoon.During that time, our staff will also be involved personally in
the lives of each participant, through one-on-one times and small groups.
You will be given the time for God to work in your life, so you will be better
prepared and equipped to minister during the second half of the year.
In January
you will then go out to minister in smaller groups. Those who are at the
Awakening in Mexico will
possibly be doing ministry in places like Matamoros
or Chiapas, Mexico;
Lima, Peru;
or Nicaragua.
Those at the Awakening in Southern Africa will possibly go to Swaziland; Jeffreys
Bay, Cape Town
or Nelspruit, South Africa;
Botswanna; or Mozambique.
As we get closer we will be finalizing where our January locations will
be and will be asking you to give us your top 3 choices as you read about the
ministry possibilities at each location.
